New Webinar Released by SCS and Parylene Japan

September 17, 2014

Educational webinar provides information on the benefits of conformal coatings.

September 17, 2014 — (Indianapolis, Indiana / Tokyo, Japan) – Specialty Coating Systems and Parylene Japan, LLC are pleased to announce that a new webinar is now available for viewing. The Japanese-language webinar provides an overview of conformal coatings, along with specific information on Parylene coatings, how they are applied and the features and properties that benefit many applications throughout the electronics, automotive, defense, aerospace and medical device industries. The 45 minute presentation appeals to engineers in many disciplines, including R&D, design, manufacturing, quality, materials and electronics, as well as to those involved in regulatory affairs and product management.

A brief description of the presentation follows:

Conformal coatings are used in the medical device, electronics, automotive, defense and aerospace industries to protect components from their environments. As technologies continue to advance, often becoming smaller and more complex and/or utilizing advanced materials in their design, many conformal coatings struggle to provide reliable protection.

With a successful track record spanning more than 40 years, Parylene conformal coatings have enhanced the reliability of numerous devices and components such as circuit boards, MEMS, LEDs, stents, pacemakers, electrosurgical tools, sensors, and elastomeric components, to name only a few.

This webinar will help you learn how Parylene coatings are applied, their features, and the value they add to devices and components, including biocompatibility and Biostability, excellent barrier properties, high dielectric strength per unit thickness and low coefficient of friction. It will also discuss recent advances in adhesion technologies, which have significantly increased bonding to previously difficult-to-coat surfaces, including highly polished metal surfaces and a wide variety of polymers.

As materials and applications continue to advance, new developments in Parylene conformal coatings enhance the performance of innovative technologies.
