Many customers search for a coating solution to extend the life of a part or to solve a particular issue that they are having with a part. To evaluate conformal coatings as a solution, customers often have sample parts coated. This is commonly called an Engineering Run.
There are 2 methods of beginning an Engineering Run with SCS:
Most new customers begin by discussing their application with an SCS sales or engineering associate, so that we understand the nature of your application and can recommend if conformal coatings will be successful. After discussing your requirements and timeline for the parts, and any associated costs, parts can be sent to SCS for an Engineering Run.
If you prefer to initiate an engineering run online, you may fill out an electronic form with detailed information about your project. Once we receive this information, an SCS sales or engineering associate will review it and contact you with any additional questions about the application and to discuss any associated costs.
From the information you supply and after evaluation of the parts, SCS Engineers will determine the best method of coating your parts, which may include surface preparation, masking and fixturing, in addition to the type of coating and the desired thickness. Upon completion of the Engineering Run, the coated parts will be sent back to you for evaluation.
Submitting an RFQ for SCS Coating Services
Often Parylene or a specific coating is called out on a drawing or process and customers simply require a price quote for their particular project.
Upon receiving your request, an SCS associate will contact you to discuss your application and coating requirements before a quote is processed.
You may also call +1-317-244-1200 or Contact SCS online, to discuss the coating and production needs required for your quote. Upon review of this information, SCS will provide you a quote for your conformal coating project.
