Adhesion Technology
Advances in Parylene Adhesion Technologies
To maximize protection of a component or device, strong adhesion of the coating must be achieved. Optimal adhesion of Parylene to a wide variety of substrates, including metal, plastic, elastomer, glass, paper, etc., is commonly achieved by a treatment with A-174 silane prior to Parylene coating. However, in some applications, materials remain to which Parylene coatings may not achieve optimal adhesion.
Developed by SCS’ industry-leading team of research and development engineers, AdPro Plus® and AdPro Poly® increase adhesion between Parylene coatings and difficult substrates, including titanium, stainless steel, gold, chromium, solder mask and many polymeric materials.
AdPro Plus and AdPro Poly are biocompatible and biostable. Additionally, they have demonstrated improved stability at elevated temperatures, making them excellent adhesion promotion options for harsh environment applications.
SCS Parylene coatings, when paired with AdPro Plus and AdPro Poly adhesion promotion technologies, improve the long-term reliability and protection of advanced technologies. For more information on the AdPro family of technologies, contact SCS online or call +1.317.244.1200.
