Specialty Coating Systems Offers Webinar on Coatings for Medical Devices
(Indianapolis, Indiana) – Next week, Specialty Coating Systems will be hosting a free, educational webinar entitled “High-Performance Coatings for Medical Devices” on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.
Coatings are utilized in the medical device industry to modify surfaces for many reasons, not the least of which is to provide or enhance the bio-acceptability of the device being coated. Surfaces are also modified to enhance electrical and frictional properties, to provide chemical and moisture barrier properties, to improve the hygienic properties of the surface, and sometimes simply to improve the cosmetic perception of the product. Coatings may also be used to facilitate the application of other coatings (a primer role) and to control the extraction or release rates of compounds from within substrate materials.
The webinar will review the several variants of Parylene conformal coatings, their unique and highly useful attributes, the application processes and application examples.
The webinar will wrap up with a live Q&A session with technical staff from Specialty Coating Systems. For more information or to register for the webinar, visit SCSwebinars.com or call +317.244.1200.
