What is the Maximum Object Size for Parylene Coating?
While there are many components that can be coated with Parylene, there are some limitations. One of these limitations is size.
The actual application of Parylene during the vapor deposition process (VPD) occurs in a deposition chamber. Therefore, the object to be coated must fit in this chamber. Chambers range in size to accommodate a variety of applications and components that span from miniscule to quite large.
Additionally, larger chambers are not only used for components that are unable to fit into a standard chamber but also to coat more items in a single coating run. This can greatly reduce the price per piece if you have a large volume. A downside of a larger chamber is that if you do not have a large volume, the costs to maintain and operate a large size chamber could drastically increase the price per piece.
