SCS Global Coverage Newsletter Celebrates 100th Issue
SCS is proud to celebrate the 100th issue of the Global Coverage newsletter. Originally known as the Parylene Press, the newsletter was established in 1980 as a source of education for customers and a place to share the stories behind the increasing use of Parylene coatings across industries. In 1998, it was renamed the Global Coverage to reflect SCS’ growth in both product offerings and international reach.
Since the launch of the first issue, SCS has celebrated numerous milestones, acquisitions and new product launches, further establishing itself as a key innovator in conformal coating technologies and services. Over the last five decades, the company broadened its conformal coatings portfolio to include Parylene, plasma, liquid, ALD and multilayer coatings and has developed cutting-edge products such as Parylene HT®, halogen-free ParyFree® and the AdPro® family of adhesion technologies.
In addition to providing industry-leading coating services, SCS also manufactures state-of-the-art conformal coating, curing and testing systems. Over the years, the Global Coverage has featured new product releases including the PrecisionCure UVC microwave UV curing system, the PrecisionHeat infrared radiation (IR) thermal preheating system, the PrecisionCure TC IR thermal curing system, the PrecisionCoat VI spray coating system, the Labcoter® 3 portable Parylene coating system and the PrecisionAdvance conveyor system.
Through the decades, SCS has expanded its global footprint to 21 coating facilities around the world, including 9 in the Americas, 7 in Asia and 5 in Europe. The company proudly serves thousands of customers worldwide, delivering industry-leading coating solutions for the medical device, electronics, automotive, aerospace and defense industries.
In 2024, over three decades after the newsletter’s launch, SCS remains committed to creating valuable educational content, leveraging its extensive history of delivering conformal coating services and systems for advanced technologies worldwide.
