The recent growth of intelligent IoT devices highlights the need for advanced protection in electronics. Consumer wearable devices (e.g., smartwatches, fitness trackers, etc.) utilize cutting-edge barometric, temperature and altitude sensors, and worker safety is often enhanced by advanced industrial sensors. These technologies, and others, require a high level of ingress protection from a wide variety of gasses, moisture and chemicals.

This webinar will provide an overview of Parylene coatings and protected applications across multiple industries, with a specific focus on its use in “smart” sensors and IoT devices. It will also provide an overview of the unique properties and benefits of Parylene.

Dr. Kumar has more than 29 years of extensive experience in polymeric materials and their applications in the medical, electronics and semiconductors areas. He earned his doctoral degree in Organic Chemistry from India, and completed his post-doctorate work in Polymer Chemistry at the UCL, U.K.

Mr. Thomas is the Director of Market Segments for Specialty Coating Systems. He has responsibility for leading the development and coordination of SCS’ global market segment strategies and initiatives. Thomas has over 25 years of diverse experience in product management, sales and marketing. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and Master of Business Administration from Butler University.
