Advances in Parylene Adhesion Technologies
Optimal adhesion of Parylene to a wide variety of substrates, including metal, plastic, elastomer, glass, paper, etc., is commonly achieved by a treatment with A-174 silane prior to Parylene coating. However, in some applications, materials remain to which Parylene coatings may not achieve optimal adhesion.
Developed by SCS’ industry-leading team of research and development engineers, AdPro Plus® and AdPro Poly® increase adhesion between Parylene coatings and difficult substrates. Strong adhesion of Parylene is critical to enable the coating to provide maximum benefit to the application.
AdPro Plus is an adhesion promotion technology that improves adhesion of Parylene coatings to materials such as titanium, stainless steel, gold, chromium, and solder mask, to name a few.
AdPro Poly was specially engineered to solve the adhesion challenges of many polymeric materials, including polyimide (Kapton®) substrates, enabling Parylene coatings to provide long-term reliability and protection.
Both AdPro Plus and AdPro Poly have demonstrated improved stability at elevated temperatures, making them excellent adhesion promotion options for harsh environment applications. Additionally, the biocompatibility and biostability of SCS adhesion technologies enhance the overall reliability of metallic and polymeric medical devices.
