November 19, 2006

UV cure unit mates seamlessly with SCS Precisioncoat systems

INDIANAPOLIS – Specialty Coating Systems (SCS) today introduced the SCS Precision UVC, an ultraviolet cure unit. The system offers tubular, full-spectrum UV curing in perfect integration with the SCS Precisioncoat or as a stand-alone system.

When coupled with either the SCS Precisioncoat or SCS Precisioncoat EL, components move from the spray coating system to the cure unit automatically, with the coating system PC controlling the cure cycle. The SCS Precision UVC has three intensity settings for curing a wide variety of coatings, inks and solder masks, an optional second UV cure zone, and an optional automatic conveyor-width adjustment feature.

“We have developed the SCS Precision UVC to help our customers increase their efficiency and output while reducing downtime,” says Bill Boyd, SCS equipment market manager. Whether used alone or in conjunction with a Precisioncoat system, the Precision UVC can cure any photocure coating reliably and quickly.”

The Precision UVC can accommodate substrates from 2 inches square to 20 inches square and has a clearance of 4 inches above and below the pass line. The drive system can be adjusted between 2 and 20 feet per minute, and the UV arc is 25 inches wide. The Precision UVC features full Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association (SMEMA) compatibility and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70 compliance.
