SCS and Tech Briefs Media Present Webinar on Conformal Coatings

Specialty Coating Systems, in conjunction with Tech Briefs Media Group, hosted an interactive webinar on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. The webinar, which was presented by SCS VP of Technology Dr. Rakesh Kumar and Sr. Medical Market Specialist Lonny Wolgemuth, focused on the advances of Parylene conformal coatings in the automotive, electronics, medical and military industries. Linda Bell, Tech Briefs Editor, moderated the event.

Kumar and Wolgemuth reviewed the history of Parylene conformal coatings, common reasons for coating, challenges and things to consider when choosing a coating. They also discussed the variants of Parylene that are commercially available today, and how each is uniquely beneficial to a wide variety of applications in these industries. Dr. Kumar concluded the presentation with a discussion of recent developments in the arenas of adhesion and using Parylene as a structural material.
